UTOPIA by Karen Walker
Karen Walker's new Autumn/Winter 2014 collection is now out.
The Utopia collection lives up to its name for me as these pieces are to be desired and have perfect qualities in my opinion, unfortunately my bank account won't allow me to own any of these pieces *sigh* so I'll continue to live in my dystopian fashion wardrobe.
I'm really liking the print pieces that KW has put into this collection. Sometimes designers go over board in the print area which leaves me a bit confused as to what they were thinking, but not with this collection. That's what I like most about KW she makes clothes that you can easily see yourself wearing everyday while still making you stand out just that little bit extra to make yourself feel a little more confident in yourself.
So well done Karen another great collection.
Check out the rest of the collection here

My future looks like a magazine
My ever growing magazine collection. |
I moved up to Auckland with one goal in my mind: to get into the journalism major. But things changed, as they do quite often with me.
The first half of this year was rough on me, I wasn't in the right frame of mind and I became somewhat depressed as I felt that I was not good at university altogether. I went home for two weeks and got away from the city which gave me time to sit, chill and think.
So far this semester has been great and I have begun to remember why I made the move up to Auckland, I want to work for a fashion magazine.
I love fashion, I might not have the money to buy the clothes I want but that doesn't stop me from opening Vogue Australia or Remix and appreciating every single piece of clothing and imaging what I could wear or what would suit me.
So now that it has come to the time to pick majors I know I want to do journalism. But first I have to get the good grades so I can be accepted into journalism next year.
The best I can do is take one step at a time and stay true to what I believe I am capable of and that is that I will one day work for a fashion magazine.

Zimmerman a/w 2013
Here is the first look for Zimmerman's autumn/winter 2013 collection and so far so good. With warm natural browns present and a spot of colour this collection is looking very desirable. I am especially loving Dazed Knitted Fur Jacket (picture 2).
The more earthy colours really reflect the coming up season and the added colour in the collection emphasises that colour isn't only for summer, you just tone it down in the cooler months of the year and follow more pastel/lighter colours rather than brights.
You can see the trends like texture, 60's influence and tailored jackets in this collection.

FANTASTIQUE MAGNIFIQUE 2013 by Karen Walker
I am loving what is to come from Karen Walker in 2013. The clothes picture above are only a handful of my favourite pieces from the next collection Fantastique Magnifique, all these clothes pictured are for the Southern Hemisphere section, since that is where I live I am mainly interested in these pieces.
I am especially loving all the blue clothes, but that could be because it is my favourite colour. This collection is clean cut and features trends like white on white, ruffles, sixties influence and tailored suits all of which are going to be big hits in the Southern Hemisphere come Autumn and Winter.
My wardrobe will be dreaming of owning many pieces of Karen Walker's collection Fantastique Magnifique.

Ketz-ke Summer 12
Although designers are starting to bring out their winter collections for 2013 (since I live in the Southern Hemisphere winter is coming) I still would rather look at the summer collections as the weather is still beautiful over here.
Theses are a few of my favourite pieces from Ketz-ke Summer 12 collection, I love that you can easily see yourself wearing these pieces with what you may already have in your wardrobe. The outfits are fun and casual with a streetwear edge to them.
